Teen 'Clinging To Life' After Lawrence Birthday Party Shooting

Several teens were shot during a June 9 birthday party, and the family of one of them pleads for those involved to come forward.

LAWRENCE, IN — The family of a teen shot during a June 9 birthday party at a Lions Club in Lawrence are speaking out. Right now a teen is in police custody after several teens were shot during the party, WXIN reported, adding that police say one of the teens is in critical condition at Riley Hospital and the others received non-life threatening injuries to the hand or legs.

According to WRTV, family members of 14-year-old Daron Johnson, the teen at Riley Hospital, say he's clinging for his life after being shot in the head.

WRTV also reported Lawrence Police were called to the 4700 block of North Richardt Avenue just after 10:30 p.m. on a report of shots fired.

Birthday Party Shooting: 1 Arrested After Four Teens Shot

On Sunday morning, WXIN saidauthorities arrested a 14-year-old on charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and minor possession of a weapon, and took him to the juvenile detention center, while Lawrence police think other potential suspects are on the loose.
