Vice President Pence Talks Tax Overhaul In Plainfield
MORE: The people Vice President Mike Pence is urging to support the tax overhaul plan, including an Indiana official.

PLAINFIELD, IN — Vice President Mike Pence spent Thursday evening meeting with state leaders, local business owners and families during a discussion on the GOP's federal tax overhaul plan. Associated Press reports Pence pitched the tax overhaul effort in a speech at TKO Graphix, and heard from business owners who told the vice president that a tax cut would help them increase pay, hire more employees and buy equipment. According to AP, the Thursday evening visit took place the same day the Senate released its own version of the overhaul plan, and House Ways and Means Committee reportedly approved its own version of the plan.
Pence described the debate over the plans as a jobs and competitiveness issue, not a Republican or Democrat issue.
AP reports Pence urged Indiana residents to call and tell representatives that the state needs a tax cut, and he also urged Sen. Joe Donnelly to support the plan, as the Democratic official is up for re-election next year.
