Jasper man accused of switching off power to businesses, government buildings (14news.com) — A Jasper resident has been charged after police say he intentionally switched off exterior breaker panels, briefly cutting power to several local businesses, apartments, and government buildings around town. Jasper Police and the Jasper Electric Department are now reviewing the impact and tightening security on electrical infrastructure to prevent similar incidents. No widespread utility failure was reported.

June Women Empowering Women panel set for June 24th (duboiscountyherald.com) — Residents interested in leadership and networking can join Women Empowering Women’s “Her Journey of Becoming” luncheon and panel on June 24 at Fairfield Inn & Suites in Jasper. Regional women leaders will share stories of growth, resilience, and leadership, with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. for networking before the program.

Strassenfest Pickleball Tournament announced (duboiscountyfreepress.com) — Jasper pickleball fans can sign up now for a new mixed doubles tournament during this summer’s Jasper Strassenfest, hosted at the Alvin C. Ruxer Student Gym on the Vincennes University Jasper campus. Set for Saturday, August 1, it features two age divisions, staggered start times, and prizes for the top three teams in each bracket.
