The Farm at Prophetstown hosting family-friendly fall events all month long (wlfi.com) β Families in Greater Lafayette can enjoy a full month of free-with-admission fall activities at The Farm at Prophetstown in nearby West Lafayette, including this Saturday's Fall Funfest, a centennial celebration on October 17, and Halloween Trick or Treating with the Animals on October 31. Organizers highlight colorful harvest scenery, 1920s farm life, and hands-on crafts for all ages.

Lafayette woman arrested for alleged battery (purdueexponent.org) β A 44-year-old Lafayette woman was arrested after police say surveillance video and witness accounts showed her attempting to force a child into a vehicle and struggling with a man during a dispute on 900 East. Prosecutors have filed multiple felony and misdemeanor domestic battery charges involving a child under 14, and she remains held on a $2,500 cash bond.

Indiana senator accused of 2 recent Walmart shoplifting incidents, source says (indystar.com) β A state senator representing Tippecanoe County is under investigation after a reported shoplifting incident at Lafayette's east-side Walmart and another at a Monticello store, prompting a request for a special prosecutor in Lafayette. He acknowledges recent troubling cognitive changes, is seeking medical evaluation, and says he is stepping back from active campaigning while potential charges are reviewed.
