Lafayette Street and Sanitation Department announces change to brush and yard waste collection (wlfi.com) — Starting September 1, Lafayette residents must place all brush and yard waste at the street side, as the Street and Sanitation Department will stop alley pickups. The city outlines strict rules on sizes, bagging, and separation of materials, and reminds neighbors that contractors must haul away what they cut. 3. Calls grow for faster TEAS responses, need for transparency (jconline.com) — Concerns are mounting over Tippecanoe Emergency Ambulance Service response times and transparency after Lafayette and West Lafayette residents reported long waits and confusing billing. Local activists and officials are pressing TEAS and its hospital partners for clearer records, better collaboration with fire departments, and faster coverage across the county, even as new technology, staffing changes and redeployed ambulances aim to improve performance.
   

4. Greater Lafayette to be an 'ecosystem' for chip making, officials say (jconline.com) — A multibillion-dollar SK hynix chip plant in West Lafayette is set to anchor a new semiconductor "ecosystem," bringing about 1,000 on-site jobs and thousands more spinoff positions to Greater Lafayette. Local, state and Purdue leaders say Tippecanoe County will be the epicenter of this national-scale tech push, with more semiconductor partners and regional investment likely to follow.
   

5. Indiana State Police Lafayette District Mourns the Passing of Retired K 9 Colt (clintoncountydailynews.com) — The Indiana State Police Lafayette District is mourning retired K-9 Colt, who died August 25 after years of service across the district's eight counties. Colt, known for tracking, suspect apprehension, and narcotics detection, also loved school visits and time with his handler's family. Troopers are honoring his loyalty and impact on the communities he served.
