• 41-year-old Indianapolis man sentenced for 2025 robbery of Geist hardware store (wthr.com) — Lawrence police helped track and arrest a man convicted of robbing a Geist Ace Hardware, leading to a 19-year prison sentence after a 2025 incident involving stolen tools and an injured employee. The chase and search moved through Lawrence-area streets, a nearby barn, and the MSD of Lawrence Township Transportation Center before officers ultimately identified and located the suspect.
   

• Nine Indiana communities join IU Program to manage, expand local tree canopies (wbiw.com) — Lawrence is one of nine Indiana communities joining an Indiana University program this year to better manage and grow local tree canopies.
