• 41-year-old Indianapolis man sentenced for 2025 robbery of Geist hardware store (wthr.com) — Lawrence police helped track and arrest a man convicted of robbing a Geist Ace Hardware, leading to a 19-year prison sentence after a 2025 incident involving stolen tools and an injured employee. The chase and search moved through Lawrence-area streets, a nearby barn, and the MSD of Lawrence Township Transportation Center before officers ultimately identified and located the suspect.

• Nine Indiana communities join IU Program to manage, expand local tree canopies (wbiw.com) — Lawrence is one of nine Indiana communities joining an Indiana University program this year to better manage and grow local tree canopies. Through the Urban Green Governance track, Lawrence will help craft a long-term urban forest master plan, supported by an IU climate fellow and new demonstration trees arriving this fall.
