• Orleans woman facing battery charges after domestic incident in Mitchell (wbiw.com) — Mitchell police arrested an 18-year-old Orleans woman after a late-night domestic disturbance on South 7th Street that left one woman injured and property damaged. According to officers, the suspect repeatedly admitted punching her mother and also allegedly struck another woman who tried to intervene. Both victims signed battery affidavits, and the woman was taken to the Lawrence County Jail on domestic battery charges.

Deputies say he admitted firing two shots into the ground after she released a stray dog, and they seized his .22-caliber pistol as evidence. He now faces multiple felony-level allegations, though he maintains he never aimed at anyone.
