• Orleans woman facing battery charges after domestic incident in Mitchell (wbiw.com) — Mitchell police arrested an 18-year-old Orleans woman after a late-night domestic disturbance on South 7th Street that left one woman injured and property damaged. According to officers, the suspect repeatedly admitted punching her mother and also allegedly struck another woman who tried to intervene. Both victims signed battery affidavits, and the woman was taken to the Lawrence County Jail on domestic battery charges.
   

• Mitchell man arrested after woman says he pointed gun at her vehicle, affidavit says (wbiw.com) — A Mitchell man was recently arrested after a woman reported he pointed a gun toward her vehicle while her two children were inside near Sonny Dorsett and Davey Cox roads. Deputies say he admitted firing two shots into the ground after she released a stray dog, and they seized his .22-caliber pistol as evidence. He now faces multiple felony-level allegations, though he maintains he never aimed at anyone.
