Notre Dame President Calls For End Of 'Cruel' Border Separations

University of Notre Dame shared a statement made by President Rev. John Jenkins regarding family separations at the border.

SOUTH BEND, IN — The president of the University of Notre Dame is sharing his thoughts on the separation of children and parents at the U.S. border in a message to the Trump Administration. On Tuesday morning, Rev. John Jenkins issued a statement, posted on the university's Twitter account, condemning the practice.

"Central to the Holy Cross education Notre Dame offers is a sense of family, centered on the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, and in that spirit I call on the Administration to end immediately the cruel practice of separating children from parents and parents from children." - Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C.
