• UPDATE: SBPD investigates stabbing in the 400 block of S. Lafayette (abc57.com) — South Bend police are investigating a stabbing that reportedly happened near the Hope Rescue Mission on South Lafayette, after the wounded man sought help at the St. Joseph County Jail Friday night. Authorities have not yet released details about the victim, suspect, or motive, and are asking residents to stay tuned for further updates. 
• EPA updates council committee on LaSalle Park cleanup (wvpe.org) — Federal and city officials say South Bend's LaSalle Park is safe after major cleanup work, but residents remain worried about lingering lead contamination and health impacts nearby. The EPA is reanalyzing properties under stricter standards and plans a community meeting this fall, while residents push for faster action on reparatory justice recommendations.
