Commissioners approve distributor sale, road boring procedures (suncommercial.com) — Knox County commissioners in Vincennes have approved selling a surplus road distributor to Harrison County and advanced new rules and higher fees for road boring and cutting under county roads. Anyone needing to dig, bore, or install utilities must now apply through the Knox County Highway Department, meet stricter standards, and pay larger fees and refundable deposits before work begins.

Parsley named District 7 Superintendent of the Year (suncommercial.com) — Vincennes Community School Corporation superintendent Greg Parsley has been named the 2026 District 7 Superintendent of the Year, a peer-selected honor recognizing his leadership across southwest Indiana. Under his guidance, the district has strengthened school safety, expanded student services and special education supports, and grown programs like JROTC and Washington Learning Academy that directly benefit Vincennes students and families.

Brian Sanders, 43, Terre Haute (wuzr.com) — Vincennes natives and friends are mourning Brian Christopher Sanders, born in Vincennes in 1982 and most recently living in Terre Haute, who passed away May 7 at age 43. Remembered as a devoted family man and skilled welding inspector, his arrangements are being handled by Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Vincennes Chapel, with memorial donations suggested to the Indiana Center for Recovery, Truman House.
