BP is proposing a six-year deal with 13% wage increases over four years, bonuses, and a 150-day "industrial peace" period to avoid immediate strikes or lockouts after contract expiration.

Major Midwest Refinery Supplying Michigan Goes Offline (michigannewssource.com) — Fuel prices around Whiting could face extra pressure after ExxonMobil's Joliet, Illinois refinery temporarily shut down from a power outage, just as BP's Whiting refinery is in maintenance. The disruption affects a big share of Midwest refining capacity, and analysts say the impact on prices depends on how quickly Joliet returns to normal operations.
