• Federal Grant to Fund Most of Bridge Replacement East of Alton (kiwaradio.com) — A major federal grant will pay most of the cost to replace the aging bridge just east of Alton, with Sioux County and the City of Alton sharing the remaining expense. Construction is planned for 2029, giving time for design work while the current bridge remains open. This project is part of a broader federal investment in Iowa’s rural transportation network.
   

• Sioux City Woman Injured in Highway 60 Rollover Near Alton (kiwaradio.com) — Emergency crews from Alton and Orange City responded after a Sioux City woman rolled her vehicle on Highway 60 about a mile south of Alton, leaving her with minor injuries. The crash happened around midday Saturday and caused significant vehicle damage. The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the cause of the rollover.
