• Gunfire at Pioneer Park leads to arrest of 4 adults, 2 juveniles (who13.com) — Altoona residents should know that an Altoona Police Department K-9 helped Des Moines officers track down six people after gunfire was reported near Pioneer Park Sunday evening. Police say two rifles, ammunition, marijuana, and cash were recovered, and four adults and two juveniles now face firearm-related and interference charges tied to the shooting into a sand berm.
   

• Boone police officers to be honored for solving kidnapping case (kcci.com) — An Altoona resident, Kyler Kingham, is among four people convicted in a violent kidnapping and robbery case that Boone police successfully solved, leading to long prison sentences. Two Boone investigators will receive the Chief’s Commendation for their work, while Kingham is serving a 10-year term for first-degree theft related to the crime.
   

• Driver faces $1M bond after fatal tractor crash in Central Ohio (abc6onyourside.com) — An Altoona man is being held on a $1 million bond in Ohio after authorities say he left the scene of a crash that killed a 77-year-old tractor driver on State Route 79. Investigators allege he was driving recklessly before the collision and then fled on foot. A preliminary court hearing in Licking County is set for Thursday afternoon.
