Ankeny Police Need Help Identifying Women Who May Have Assaulted Walmart Security Guard

Police are searching for two women who allegedly stole merchandise from the Ankeny Walmart and assaulted a store security guard when she attempted to stop them from leaving.

The is asking for the public’s help in identifying two women accused of stealing from the local and assaulting the store’s security guard on their way out.

According to a press release issued Friday by the police department, the incident took place on Jan. 31 at about 4 p.m. A female security guard at Walmart, 1002 S.E. National Drive, tried to stop the two suspects as they attempted to leave the store with stolen merchandise. Police said the guard was assaulted by both women before they fled to their vehicle.

The first suspect is a white woman about 25 to 30 years old with brown hair and an average height and weight.

The second suspect is also a white woman between 20 and 25 years old. She has red or auburn hair and a medium build. This suspect also had a heart tattoo on her upper right collarbone. She also may have had a red weave worn in her hair toward the back of her head.

The police news release said the two suspects left the scene in a black, four-door SUV. The license plate of the vehicle was said to possibly include the numbers “443” or a similar combination.

The Walmart security guard was treated for facial injuries at the scene, the release said.
