Man Assaulted Outside of Stix Bar

A Des Moines man was injured Nov. 13 when he was attacked by two men in the parking lot of an Ankeny bar, according to police.

Ankeny police were called to , located at 1555 S.E. Delaware Ave., at approximately 1:46 a.m. When they arrived, they found the 29-year-old victim with several non-life threatening injuries.

Capt. Joe Schaffer said the victim was a patron at Stix. When he was leaving the bar with a friend, there was a confrontation between the victim and two unidentified male subjects.

The victim described his assailants as two Hispanic males who drove away in a Black Chevy Tahoe, a police report stated.

According to reports, neither the police nor the victim knew the reason for the attack. Nothing was stolen from the victim during the confrontation, Schaffer said.

The victim was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines to receive treatment for a bump on his head and several scrapes. Schaffer said the injuries were not life threatening and the victim was alert and speaking with officers during his transport to the hospital.

Schaffer said the case is now closed as the victim did not wish to pursue criminal charges.

Meyevi A. Kingbede, 31, Des Moines, was charged with fifth-degree theft following an incident at , located at 1935 S.E. Delaware Ave.

Jeffery C. Robinson, 46, Ankeny, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a traffic stop near 1000 N.E. Greenview Ln.

Alexander S. Franklin, 20, Des Moines, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at 2009 W. First St.

Maximilian J. Kragel, 18, Ankeny, was charged with third-degree burglary of a vehicle following an incident near 2714 N.W. Park Ln.

A 14-year-old juvenile was charged with giving away, selling or administering narcotics (prescription drugs) following an incident at , 1302 S. Ankeny Blvd.

Police responded to 1301 S.E. Delaware Ave. at approximately 8:30 a.m. for a report of third-degree burglary of a vehicle.

Police responded to , 1302 N. Ankeny Blvd., at approximately 2:40 p.m. for a report of fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Nov. 16

Timothy J. Hedden, 33, Ankeny, was charged with driving while revoked following a traffic stop near the 2900 block of Southwest State Street.

Police responded to 201 N.W. Springbrooke Ct. at approximately 9:47 a.m. for a report of third-degree burglary of a vehicle.

Nov. 17

Blake R. Rice, 19, Pleasant Hill, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol under the legal age following a traffic stop near the 300 block of Southwest Ordnance Road.
