• DMACC partners with Ankeny school district to offer on-site early childhood education training (kcrg.com) — High school students in Ankeny can now take in-person early childhood education courses at Terrace Learning Center through a new partnership between DMACC and the Ankeny Community School District. The program lets teens earn college credits and an early childhood certificate before graduation, including on-site observation and clinical experience alongside traditional DMACC students.
   

• IGHSAU volleyball rankings for 10/7/26 (1630kcjj.com) — Ankeny's volleyball teams are shining in the latest statewide rankings, with Ankeny High sitting third in Class 5A, Ankeny Centennial sixth, and Ankeny Christian holding the top spot in Class 1A. These standings highlight strong seasons across multiple local programs as they head into the heart of the fall schedule.
   

• CenturyLink not ending landline service in Lee County — yet (mississippivalleypublishing.com) — CenturyLink is shutting off traditional landline service in Ankeny and several other Iowa cities on Oct. 18, pushing customers toward newer phone technologies. While Lee County is spared for now, the company says only a tiny share of Iowans still rely solely on copper landlines and outlines replacement options like Connected Voice with Air-Line and services from other providers.
