• After ten year absence, ambulance service will return to Dows (radioiowa.com) — Belmond residents may notice their local hospital playing a key role in restoring ambulance service to nearby Dows, as Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond has donated a retired ambulance. With a town fundraiser set for December 12 and about $50,000 still needed, the goal is to have Dows’ EMS fully running again by mid-2027, improving emergency response across Wright County communities including Belmond.
