1. 1 dead, 1 charged with murder in Bettendorf shooting (kcrg.com) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting in a Bettendorf neighborhood that left 29-year-old Louis Robinson dead and led to multiple charges against an Illinois man. Investigators say video shows the suspect arriving on Magnolia Drive, exchanging gunfire, and then taking Robinson’s handgun before fleeing toward Holly Drive. Two children were reportedly present during an earlier threat, and the suspect is being held in Scott County Jail without bond.

Bettendorf Community School District Names Dr Lorry Wilson Executive Director of Student Services (rcreader.com) — Bettendorf Community School District has selected Dr. Lorry Wilson as its next Executive Director of Student Services, with board approval expected soon and a July 1 start date. The new rankings, released June 10, show Pleasant Valley, Muscatine, and other nearby programs also competing near the top, setting up an exciting stretch of summer softball for Bettendorf fans.
