• Vehicle submerged in Bettendorf pond, officials say (wqad.com) — Emergency crews in Bettendorf were called Friday morning to a pond off the 2200 block of Kimberly Road, where a vehicle rolled into the water after a minor collision and apparent mechanical failure. A Bettendorf police officer entered the pond to help, but the lone driver escaped through a window and reached shore safely, and officials are now working to remove the vehicle. 
• Bettendorf's Gage Tucker, Haley Duke lead way for Quad Cities on Day 2 of Iowa state track (qctimes.com) — Bettendorf track standouts made a big splash at the Iowa state meet, with senior hurdler and Iowa signee Gage Tucker winning the 400-meter hurdles and sophomore sprinter Haley Duke placing fifth in the 400.
