• Lake View Man Accused Of Brandishing Pistol At Motorist Arrested Thursday In Carroll (1380kcim.com) — Carroll authorities arrested a Lake View man Thursday evening after a caller reported he waved a pistol in a threatening way while driving on U.S. Highway 30 toward town. Police and sheriff’s deputies stopped the vehicle at 2nd and Carroll Streets, allegedly found an open beer and a loaded handgun, and say a breath test showed a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit.

An expert panel from the Iowa Pork Producers sampled entries across the state, and locals are encouraged to visit the finalists, taste the sandwiches, and share photos while the judges prepare to announce a winner later this month.
