• Carroll Man Charged with Stalking After Allegedly Tracking Victim's Vehicle with AirTag (1380kcim.com) — Law enforcement say a Carroll man faces felony stalking and no-contact order violation charges after an Apple AirTag was allegedly used to track a Coon Rapids woman’s vehicle. Carroll County deputies used a trash barrel and trail camera to recover the device, and the suspect’s arraignment is scheduled for August 10. 
• John Roosa, Administrator, Boone County Landfill and Boone County Recycling, August 5, 2026 (kwbg.com) — Starting July 1, 2027, trash from Ames and Story County will be redirected to the Carroll landfill instead of Boone County, a move meant to extend Boone’s landfill life. The interview also details upcoming hazardous waste drop-offs, recycling challenges, and possible changes to Boone’s recycling drop-off site that could affect how regional residents manage their trash and recyclables.
