(flatwaterfreepress.org) — Residents of Carter Lake and nearby Council Bluffs can sign up for free soil testing as journalists found concerning lead levels lingering in and around Omaha’s massive Superfund site. Reporters collected 620 yard samples, including from Iowa communities the EPA never remediated, and discovered many properties still exceed health-based thresholds, prompting new scrutiny of past cleanup efforts.
