March 24: “Celebrating Colors” - Film Screening - REFLECTIONS UNHEARD: Black Women in Civil Rights

  • UNI, Seerley Hall, Room 115, 7pm
  • This film unearths the story of black women’s political marginalization- between the male-dominated Black Power movement and second wave feminism, which was largely white and middle class-showing how each failed to recognize black women’s overlapping racial and gender identities. A panel discussion will follow the film.
  • Sponsored by: UNI Multicultural Teaching Alliance; #WeCanDoBetter campaign; and UNI Women’s & Gender Studies Program
  • Contact: Dr. Stephanie Logan - stephanie.logan@uni.edu
