Join a Hartman naturalist on a trip to Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park near Preston, Minnesota. We will spend the morning hiking, viewing native wildlife and wildflowers, and doing some nature journaling. We will also visit various sinkholes and Big Spring, which feeds the stream which runs through the park. After lunch, we will take a guided tour of Mystery Cave, Minnesota’s largest cave. The guide will discuss why the cave is there and different geologic features located within the cave. Please bring appropriate clothing; the cave stays at a constant temperature of 48 degrees. Lunch is not provided but large coolers will be available to put lunches in.
