THREE NEW BOARD MEMBERS JOIN BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS

Brooke McKinstry, Ashley Stanley and Chad Swanson are making a difference for youth facing adversity in our community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa is pleased to welcome 3 new members to its Board of Directors.

Brooke McKinstry Brooke graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2013 with a Marketing degree. Upon graduating, she was hired by the Cedar Valley Hy-Vee stores as their Assistant Marketing Coordinator in June 2013. She is responsible for helping market Hy-Vee in the areas of social media and planning events. Brooke was recently married and she and her husband live in Urbana. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a great fit for Brooke as she very much enjoys working with youth. She is also in the process of becoming a Big Sister and is very excited to make a difference in the life of a child.

Ashley Stanley is originally from Marshalltown and graduated from Marshalltown Senior High School in 2006. She attended Loras College in Dubuque, receiving her Bachelor’s in Marketing. She has worked for Hy-Vee for 12 years and in the Waterloo area for the past 3 years. Ashley and husband Kyle Stanley reside in Reinbeck. She likes to spend time with her 4 year old daughter Morgan, golf, bake and spend time outdoors. Ashley is very excited to be a part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters team and looks forward to giving back.

Chad Swanson is an attorney for Dutton, Braun, Staack & Hellman. A native of Waterloo, Chad has practiced law in Waterloo since joining DBSH in February 1995. Following his graduation from Waterloo West High School in 1988, he attended the University of Iowa, and received B.A. degrees with distinction in both English and music performance in May 1992. He stayed in Iowa City for law school and received his J.D. degree with distinction in December 1994. Chad is married to Michelle, a music educator at the University of Northern Iowa. Together, they enjoy raising their two children, Elizabeth and Matthew.

“We are delighted to welcome three new members who bring expertise in their respective fields,” said Bonnie Sadler, who chairs BBBSNEIA’s board. “We look forward to their contributions in service to our mission.”

Added Executive Director Katie Orlando, “Our board has recruited three very impressive individuals and I look forward to their energy and ideas, and partnering with them and our entire board to help make a difference for more youth in our community.”
