VCCV Weekly Volunteer Opportunities

Connecting community, changing lives.

  • The Grout Museum needs volunteers age 18 and over to participate as Science Fair Judges on February 17 from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. No previous experience is necessary.
  • North Star Community Services is looking for a volunteer with skill to videotape a musical theatre production on June 3. The volunteer must be available during the day and is responsible to follow through with editing of the video in a timely manner. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome.
  • CASA volunteers (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are needed to advocate for abused and neglected children involved in the juvenile court system. Requirements include care and concern for children in the system as well as completion of a 30 hour training program. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome.
  • Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Dubuque needs mentors to meet with offenders in prison or jail as well as after their release to provide the needed support to resist relapse into old habits and lifestyles. The program helps ex-offenders establish positive relationships, experience healthy social activities, and connect with community resources that can aid in finding work, affordable housing, and meeting basic needs. Mentors meet weekly. Volunteers age 18 and over.
