VCCV Weekly Volunteer Opportunities

Connecting community, changing lives.

  • Catholic Charities needs Community Guides from July 6 until July 30 to visit refugees every week and help refugees learn about their local community, discuss American customs/culture, and answer many questions refugees have when they arrive. Volunteers may also assist in transportation for the refugees to appointments and English classes. Volunteers should be age 18 or older.


  • Aspire Therapeutic Riding Program is in need of volunteers for Horsemanship Class July 8 – 10, from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Volunteers are needed to help lead group activities for riders age 6 – 12. Volunteers age 16 and over are welcome.


  • The Job Foundation needs volunteers to assist with the safety, education, and fun for all children on Nature Day, July 10, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at George Wyth State Park. Volunteers age 14 and over are welcome.


  • Cedar Falls RAGBRAI is looking for volunteers to assist with helping riders find their campground spots, serving beverages in the beer garden, and assisting with grounds upkeep on Wednesday, July 22. Multiple shifts are available.
