• The Grout Museum District needs volunteers for Discovery Days as Minecraft Explorer Assistants on December 29, 30 and 31 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Volunteers age 16 and over are welcome.
VCCV Weekly Volunteer Opportunities -
• The Iowa Academic Decathlon Association needs volunteers age 18 and over to judge speeches and interviews on Wednesday, January 28 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Waterloo Columbus High School.
• If you are 55 or older, the Waterloo Schools is seeking Prime Time Volunteers to volunteer 1-2 hours a week as a Reading Buddy to children in 1st grade who are participating in the Reading Recovery program. Volunteers will be matched one to one with students, assisting them with their reading assignments and providing support and encouragement to succeed in the program. All activities will take place during the school day.
• Waterloo Convention and Visitor’s Bureau needs Waterloo Airport Visitor Greeters for passengers by providing visitor information, maps, and assistance with in-city travel. Various shifts available 7 days a week based on arriving and departing airline schedule. Orientation & training provided onsite. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome.
• Western Home Communities has volunteer openings available for those who enjoy crafting. You will be working closely with Western Home Communities Leisure Services employees as you assist individual and groups of residents with craft projects. Volunteers age 13 and over are welcome.
