
• The Black Hawk Soil and Water Conservation District is partnering with IOWATER and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to hold a water quality “snapshot” to gather data from the four branches of Dry Run Creek on October 24. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome.
• Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity is in need of volunteers to provide assistance to customers and maintain the sales floor at the ReStore. Orientation is provided to volunteers age 18 and over.
• The Northeast Iowa Food Bank is looking for volunteer drivers to pick up and distribute food donations on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Volunteer drivers must be willing to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License and become air brake certified. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome.

• Waterloo Elementary Schools are seeking volunteers 55 years or older to be Reading Buddies with children in first grade who are participating in the Reading Recovery program. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome.
