VCCV Weekly Volunteer Opportunities

Connecting community, changing lives.

• The Black Hawk Soil and Water Conservation District is partnering with IOWATER and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to hold a water quality “snapshot” to gather data from the four branches of Dry Run Creek on October 24. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome.

• Do you enjoy science and technology? Volunteers age 13 and over are needed at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center to assist with the Family STEM Festival November 12. Two shifts of volunteers needed: 3:15 - 5:15 and 5:15-7:30 p.m. Opportunities include coat checkers, greeters, cleanup patrol, and traffic flow directors.

• Groups will have the opportunity to pick previously harvested local farms for leftover produce. Once it’s picked, the produce will be taken to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank and distributed. Volunteers must be age 13 and over are welcome.

• The Black Hawk County 4-H program seeks adults to serve as 4-H club leaders for youth between the ages of 6 and 21 years in Waterloo with the opportunity to recruit and develop a new club “from the ground up”!
