VCCV Weekly Volunteer Opportunities

Connecting community, changing lives.

• Up with Families requires supportive and positive attitude volunteers 18 years of age or older to work one on one with a child during the event April 9 – 10 in Waterloo. The shifts are a minimum of 4 hours each. Volunteers will be assigned a child with a disability or a sibling of a child with a disability. A brief training at Nazareth Lutheran Church will take place on Sunday, April 3 and Monday, April 4 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

• Help Cedar Valley Friends of the Family take a stand against sexual assault, domestic violence, and homelessness by greeting and checking in guests April 7 from 5:45 - 9:00 p.m. at Chefs Take a Stand fundraising event in Waterloo and assist with auction to make sure this amazing event runs smoothly.

• Each year The Job Foundation mentors, mentees, families, volunteers, and donors gather for dinner and celebration of the last year's growth and reflection. Volunteers are needed April 8 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. to assist with event set up, welcoming and registering guests, organizing and facilitating, assisting the photographer, and tear down.

• This Science Club at the Grout Museum District explores the concepts behind one of the world's most popular games, Minecraft! Volunteers will assist attendees in exploring all aspects of STEM as they experiment with geology, chemistry, engineering, agriculture, ratios, and proportions. Volunteers age 16 and over are needed April 9 from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m.
