VCCV Weekly Volunteer Opportunities:

Connecting community, changing lives.

• The Grout Museum District needs volunteers to assist campers ages 10 – 14 with amazing hands-on activities, teaching the science of flight and propulsion at the Bluedorn Science Imaginarium. Camp is Monday through Friday, July 18-22, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Iowa Legal Aid seeks applicants to fill AmeriCorps member positions for its regional offices across Iowa, including Waterloo. Iowa Legal Aid provides free, high quality legal education, advice and representation to low-income and elderly Iowans with civil legal problems that most dramatically affect poor and vulnerable Iowans.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Cedar Valley are seeking two adult volunteers to tag along for a day as they take 20 male club members to see a Minnesota Twins baseball game. It's a day long commitment of fun! Volunteers must be available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on August 11.

• The Project Back To School provides new school supplies to children in Black Hawk County. Volunteers are needed to take sign-ups, pick up supplies, sort and count supplies, prepare supplies for distribution and help with distribution at Lou Henry Elementary School. Assistance is need through August 20th.
