VCCV Weekly Volunteer Opportunities

Connecting community, changing lives.

  • Cedar Valley Friends of the Family is seeking volunteers to assist with event preparations for the 5th Annual Rock Away Hunger and Homelessness event at Joe’s Knight Hawk in Waverly on Monday, August 29; Tuesday, September 6; Friday, September 23; and Friday, September 30.
  • The Department of Human Service needs punctual clerical volunteers to make files, put together applications for programs, financial aid, and health care, and assist with mail needs. Volunteers will need to pass a background check.
  • Volunteers will be paired with an international student through UNI’s Culture and Intensive English Program to provide companionship by inviting them to meals in their home, activities in their community, or holidays for the coming school year.
  • The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Cedar Valley has partnered with Longhorn Steakhouse to help with a pancake breakfast at Longhorn Steakhouse. On Saturday, September 24th from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. 18 volunteers will be needed as hosts, servers, drink makers, dish washers, and ticket takers.
