YMCA Invites Families to Healthy Kids Day, April 18
On Saturday, April 18, from 10:00am to 1:00pm, the Black Hawk County YMCA is holding a free community event.
On Saturday, April 18, from 10:00am to 1:00pm, the Black Hawk County YMCA is holding a free community event to inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active.
Healthy Kids Day is the Y’s national initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families, and features activities such as - oversized games (9-square & jenga), active play, face painting, line dancing, super hero photo booth, Wii sports station, vendor booths, dog visits from Pet Pals, a visit from Waterloo Fire Rescue fire trucks and more to motivate and teach families how to develop a healthy routine at home. Healthy snacks will be provided by Unity Point Health.
Some other activities include, free open swimming in the Y’s pool from 1-3pm; and a Zumba dance fundraiser (free-will donation) where proceeds will support the YMCA and March of Dimes.
