• Marion County Sheriff's Report – 6-2-26 (kniakrls.com) — Marion County’s latest jail log includes a 28-year-old resident listed from Clive among two people booked in the past day. Deputies also handled 40 service calls ranging from fires and accidents to livestock and reckless driving, plus more than 100 phone calls through the communications center.
   

• In an upset, John Forbes wins District 1 Polk County supervisor seat (desmoinesregister.com subscription) — Voters in the Polk County supervisor District 1 seat — which includes Clive, West Des Moines, Windsor Heights and southwest Des Moines — chose Democrat John Forbes over incumbent Matt McCoy in Tuesday’s primary. Forbes, a former state representative, campaigned on restoring civility to the board and focusing on mental health, food and housing insecurity, and clean water as he heads unopposed into November.
   

• Iowa voters pick their nominees for competitive general elections (nhpr.org) — Iowa’s primary elections have set up competitive races for governor, U.S. Senate and three of the four U.S. House seats, drawing national attention to the state. Republican candidates for governor recently appeared at a Faith and Freedom Spring Kickoff in Clive, where party leaders urged unity after the primary, underscoring Clive’s role in statewide politics.
