• Tax rate drops for Columbus Schools (mississippivalleypublishing.com) — Columbus School District residents can expect a lower property tax rate next year, with the FY 2027 levy dropping about 61 cents per $1,000 of taxable valuation. At recent meetings in Columbus Junction, the board also accepted the elementary principal’s resignation, approved student trips and fundraisers, and awarded a bid for new fire-safety hoods in the Home Ec room.
