• Mericle wins tourney for Gaels (messengernews.net) — Coon Rapids-Bayard hosted the Crusader Invitational golf meet in Coon Rapids, where St. Edmond’s boys finished second just five strokes behind the home Crusaders. Ty Mericle won medalist honors with a 72, edging teammate Jack McElroy, while several Gaels golfers turned in solid rounds as they now look ahead to Class 1A sectional play.
