Saving Grace food rescue and Council Bluffs church partner on community fridge, bringing free food neighbors (3newsnow.com) — Council Bluffs neighbors can now pick up free food from a community fridge at Timothy Lutheran Church, which volunteers say can empty in just a few hours. The fridge is the first of four planned by Saving Grace Perishable Food Rescue to fight local food insecurity, and residents are encouraged to both take what they need and donate surplus produce or leftovers to help others.

Local musicians, library honor Dolly Parton's legacy (wowt.com) — Dolly Parton’s death inspired Omaha musicians to turn a planned show into a heartfelt tribute, while her legacy lives on strongly in Council Bluffs through the Public Library’s Imagination Library program. 4. Virginia (Peklo) Buckley 1949-2026 (farmerpublishing.com) — Friends and family in Council Bluffs are among those mourning Virginia “Vee” Buckley, who once lived here during her years moving between Kansas and Iowa. The 77-year-old Nebraska native is remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and Elvis fan whose life stretched from Omaha to Council Bluffs and, eventually, Mississippi, where she passed away surrounded by loved ones.
