Des Moines woman arrested in connection with stabbing, violation of no-contact order (who13.com) — A Des Moines woman has been jailed on multiple charges after deputies say she stabbed a man who had a no-contact order against her, with their five-month-old child present. The victim, treated at a Des Moines hospital and since released, now has a new no-contact order in place as the suspect awaits an October 16 preliminary hearing on $12,000 bond.
   

2. Unknown virus leaves some Iowa patients sick for weeks (kcci.com) — People around Des Moines are coming down with a stubborn, unidentified respiratory illness that lingers for weeks and sometimes returns after seeming to improve. A local nurse practitioner at a UnityPoint clinic on Ingersoll says tests are negative for COVID, flu, and strep, and urges residents to focus on prevention, rest, and seeking care if breathing problems, chest pain, or fever develop.
