• Eagle Grove baseball picks up first win over Belmond-Klemme, 10-3 (kqradio.com) — Eagle Grove baseball fans can celebrate the Eagles’ first win of the season, a 10-3 road victory over Belmond-Klemme powered by strong pitching from Gavin Pedersen and key RBIs from Hayden Schafer. The team returns home to Bruce Rholl Field on Monday night to host Bishop Garrigan in more Top of Iowa West action, giving locals an immediate chance to cheer them on. 
• Northern Iowa OWI suspect snared by Charles City police, later held on ICE detainer (northiowatoday.com) — An Eagle Grove resident was arrested in Charles City after a late-night traffic stop led to OWI and license-related charges, then was later transferred to Linn County on an immigration hold. While the case began as a routine stop, the ICE detainer means his situation now extends beyond a typical drunk driving arrest, with no court outcome yet reported.
