• Mills County board backs first reading of 'adult dependent facilities' ordinance (kmaland.com) — Mills County supervisors in Glenwood have advanced a new ordinance aimed at better staffing and accountability for adult dependent facilities after repeated sheriff’s calls to local homes. The measure would let the sheriff recoup costs from repeated incidents and outlines penalties for poorly supervised facilities. Supervisors also approved several other county actions, from a new patrol vehicle to courthouse renovations. 
• KMAland Boys Tennis (5/12): Shenandoah cleans up at Hawkeye Ten Tournament (kmaland.com) — Glenwood boys tennis finished 10th at the Hawkeye Ten Conference Tournament, with doubles team Dylan Cutshall and Marshall Yeager placing sixth at No. 2 doubles. Shenandoah dominated the meet, sweeping every bracket for the team title. The recap also notes Abraham Lincoln’s 9-0 win over Thomas Jefferson in other KMAland action.
