Johnston-Grimes firefighters quickly contained the blaze, and no injuries were reported, but several neighboring units were also affected as the district works to assist displaced residents.

His opponent, Republican Zach Lahn, also campaigned at Destination Grille in Grimes, where he and other candidates met voters and emphasized issues like economic development, education, and public safety.
