City leaders say that extra money will support snow removal, infrastructure upgrades, and road maintenance, directly affecting how your streets are cleared and maintained.

• Johnston teen helps save woman from burning home (kcci.com) — A Johnston woman was pulled from her burning home near Hyperion Golf Club by Dowling Catholic student Marek Dessimoz, with Johnston-Grimes Fire Chief Percy Coleman crediting his quick action with likely saving her life. The homeowner’s cat was later found alive in the basement, but the house is a total loss as investigators work to determine what sparked the blaze.
