Des Moines Metro Opera Announces 2027 Festival Season (broadwayworld.com) — Indianola will again host Des Moines Metro Opera’s 2027 Festival Season at the Pote Theatre, with rotating productions of The Tales of Hoffmann, Philip Glass’s Orphée, and Britten’s Billy Budd. Performances run July 2–25, 2027, with subscriptions and early-bird tickets already available for local opera-goers planning ahead.

Nine Year Old Iowa Girl Dies In Weekend UTV Crash Near Spring Creek (kccrradio.com) — A 37-year-old man from Indianola was driving a UTV near Spring Creek in South Dakota when it rolled over Saturday, killing a nine-year-old girl from Waterloo and injuring a teen from Des Moines. The Indianola driver was not hurt, and none of the three occupants were using restraints as the South Dakota Highway Patrol continues investigating.
