• Chicago-area man arrested after reported overnight robbery in downtown Iowa City (1630kcjj.com) — An overnight robbery outside Van Allen Hall on North Dubuque Street left an Iowa City woman with a swollen lip and a destroyed iPhone, and led to the arrest of a 22-year-old Chicago-area man. Police say he admitted smashing the phone after objecting to being recorded and showed signs of intoxication; he now faces multiple felony charges carrying more than 15 years in potential prison time.
   

• Iowa City man charged in drug bust that turned up over 12 pounds of marijuana, 4 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, and numerous other drugs (1630kcjj.com) — A 32-year-old Iowa City man is facing serious drug charges after police say a search of his South Van Buren Street apartment turned up more than 12 pounds of marijuana, four pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, and numerous other drugs. University of Iowa Police also reported seizing cocaine, ketamine, prescription pills, firearms, and cash; the man now faces controlled substance and tax stamp charges that could bring up to 40 years in prison.
   

• Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in Black Hawk County crash (cbs2iowa.com) — A motorcyclist critically injured in a Black Hawk County crash was flown to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City after first being treated in Waterloo. Authorities say the rider's trike struck a Chevrolet Impala from behind near Highway 63 and Cedar Wapsi Road, and the sheriff's office is still investigating the cause without assigning fault yet.
