We are so fortunate to have a great variety of indoor and outdoor festivals, celebrations and other events to choose from here in the Greater Des Moines area. There is always something going on some place! The folks who plan these events (maybe it’s you!) have a big job to do. How can they possibly think of everything they need to do to make it a success?
One thing event planners often DON’T think about during the planning stage is what to do with the trash that is generated when people come together to eat and have fun. Are there trash containers available? What about all the plastic beverage bottles? Is there somewhere to recycle them?
Metro Waste Authority can help! Event recycling stands are available for events of all sizes, including really big events like RAGBRAI and the Iowa State Fair. The stands are super easy to set up and we supply the bags for collecting the bottles and cans, too. They can be reserved by completing this form and submitting it via email or fax. When picking up the stands, a deposit check is required. The cost is based on the number of stands used. When they are all returned clean and in good condition, the deposit check is returned.

Of course, not everything can be recycled at an event. We offer trash boxes and bags for sale that will make any event – large or small – more environmentally friendly. The trash boxes can be ordered on the same form as the recycling stands. We just need a few days notice.
