Take your household hazardous waste to West Des Moines drop-off event on June 30 at Valley Stadium.

Dispose of them at the West Des Moines Event

Hazardous materials are used in day-to-day life without even giving it a second thought. When you care for your home, you often use hazardous products. Metro Waste Authority partners with western suburbs to help you recycle and dispose of these materials the safe and smart way.

Recycle and dispose of these products from 8 a.m. to noon at the west side drop-off events. Only two are left this year: June 30 at Valley Stadium in West Des Moines, 4440 Mills Civic Parkwa,y and Oct. 27 at the Clive Aquatics Center, 1801 N.W. 114th St.

Latex paint, electronic waste and pharmaceuticals are NOT accepted at these events.
You can find a complete list of accepted and not accepted items and other drop-off dates scheduled in nearby suburbs on our website.

Year-Round Drop-Off
The Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off  is open year-round to the public and accepts up to 75 pounds of hazardous waste from residents per visit for free (with some exclusions). A $1 per pound fee is assessed above 75 pounds.
