We’re so excited—Johnston Public Library has remodeled—our website, that is! The website has a new look, easy-to-use navigation and enhanced content. Keep reading for a guided tour of the all new www.johnstonlibrary.com.

New Look
We still live online at www.johnstonlibrary.com, but the next time you visit our site you will notice that things looks quite different. Now when you go to www.johnstonlibrary.com you will still have all of the library features that you have come to rely on from our website, including the online catalog, meeting room info and informational databases, but with the added bonus of quick and easy access to all City of Johnston departments, including the Police Department, City Hall, Public Works, Parks Department and more. The new site features beautiful outdoor photography of Johnston that changes each time you visit the site. The new look is fresh and highlights upcoming Johnston programs you need to know about, all in one, convenient spot.

Easy-To-Use Navigation and Enhanced Content
The primary goal for our website redesign was a site with accessible information that is easy to navigate. The new site at www.johnstonlibrary.com features main navigation on the left-hand side of the site. Here you will find our online catalog, meeting room info, and programs and services for kids, teens and adults. Left side navigation also features a link called My Account where you log in with your library card number to renew items, review your items out, pay a bill or change account information. The virtual library link features all of our electronic resources including Wilbor eBooks and audiobooks, eMagazines, downloadable music, and informational databases like WorldBook Web, Mango Languages, EbscoHost and Novelist. Basic library information including policies, contact info, and Library Board information are under Explore JPL. New to our website is the Useful Links button which contains handy websites for frequently asked-about topics including genealogy, taxes, home and garden, Iowa research and more. All of these links have been vetted and are “librarian-approved”!
