February Fun at Johnston Public Library

There’s more to February than chocolates and valentines. Check out these informative and fun programs for all ages happening at the library during the month of February.

Make &Take Craft
Saturday, February 2  10:30 am to 4:00 pm
Come to the Children’s area anytime between 10:30 am and 4:30 pm to complete a groundhog valentine craft.

Chinese Children’s Games
Monday, February 4  4:15 pm
Get ready for Chinese New Year! Guifang Xu and Yongmei Zhou, CULTUREALL Ambassadors, will delight kids ages 6-11 with this workshop about how Chinese children entertain themselves. Call the library at 515-278-5233 to register, beginning January 28.

LEGO-Maniacs
Monday, February 25  4:15 pm
Kids ages 6-11 may join us for LEGO building and more. We’ll supply the bricks—you bring the imagination! Snacks will be provided at each meeting. Call the library at 515-278-5233 to register, beginning February 17.

Welcome to Medicare
Saturday, February 23   10:30 am.
Are you currently enrolled in Medicare or do you have a family member with Medicare questions? Come to Johnston Public Library on Saturday, February 23 at 10:30 am for a free Welcome to Medicare program, facilitated by SHIP counselors. SHIP, a free, confidential service of the State of Iowa, helps Iowans make informed decisions about Medicare and other health coverage. SHIP counselors will be on hand to answer Medicare queries ranging from Medicare Parts A and B coverage, benefits, eligibility requirements, and health care costs. Family Movie: Thunderstruck
