Nominate a Deserving Organization for an Environmental Impact Award

Here in Central Iowa, we benefit from the environmentally sustainable practices of many fine organizations.  To recognize the difference they make in our communities, the Environmental Impact Awards were established.

Organizations Partner for Environmental Impact Awards 
Metro Waste Authority has partnered with the Greater Des Moines Partnership, MidAmerican Energy, Center on Sustainable Communities (COSC) and Des Moines Water Works to honor local organizations and leaders for their sustainability efforts in the Greater Des Moines area. Do you know of, or are you affiliated with an organization that should be recognized for their hard work on behalf of the environment?  The Environmental Impact Award application is just a click away!

Applications Available Online
Awards will be given to businesses (large and small), civic organizations governmental and non-governmental), and for the built environment (residential and commercial construction). Special honors will be given for best water management practices and best energy efficiency practices. All interested parties are encouraged to apply. Applications for Environmental Impact Awards will be accepted until 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013.

Winners Honored at Luncheon
Winners will be announced April 4, in conjunction with Earth Month. Award
recipients will be recognized at a luncheon to be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1
p.m. on May 15, at the Raccoon River Park Nature Lodge in West Des Moines.
