Is Now the Time to Sell Your Home?

The Real estate market in Des Moines, Iowa.

Is now the time to sell your home?

YES! Would you believe me if I tell you that the Des Moines real estate market has officially turned to a seller’s market?

Home prices hit an all time high in the summer of 2006 and then, as we all know, took a bit of a dive over the next few years. But as of January of 2013, the prices of homes are going back up. And we expect to see the prices continue to rise.

The Des Moines real estate market typically has about 5,600 properties for sale, but as of May 2013 there are about 3,600 properties. What does that mean for you? Now is the time to sell! Buyers have less options of homes to pick from and when they see something they like, they now have to act quick.

Have you been thinking about selling your home? What has been keeping from selling?

It is also worth mentioning that interest rates are at an all time low. Right now, you can get a 15-year conventional loan for 2.85% interest rate.

A 5.4% price increase on homes is expected this year. Here’s an nice article you can read about it too: http://realestate.msn.com/blogs/blog--experts-predict-54percent-home-price-hike-in-2013?ref=bfv

Enjoy this nice weather!  It's going to be a great week.
