Letter to the Editor: Education is Essential
See what John Deere Financial President and Johnston resident, Jim Israel, thinks about the importance of schools in training a well-educated workforce.

As a community, Johnston started with deep roots in farming and continued to grow by welcoming agricultural companies to be a part of its changing and thriving community. John Deere Financial has enjoyed being a part of the Johnston community for more than ten years, sharing a rich history in agriculture.
As a major employer in this community, John Deere Financial understands the importance of attracting and retaining a high-quality workforce. A quality education system is a significant factor in attracting employees to a community.
Many of our employees choose to live and work in Johnston because our community leaders are committed to maintaining a strong, vibrant community not only for today but for generations to come. As a member of this community who both lives and works in Johnston, I strongly believe that improving education will enhance the quality of life in our community over the long term.

The Johnston Community School District bond referendum represents a revised, comprehensive facilities plan and if successful, will add the necessary capacity to make the needed modifications and improvements to enhance the quality of education in Johnston for years to come. I invite you to learn more and to join me on June 25th for this important vote.
